Ipswich Town Preview vs Birmingham City

Ipswich Town look to put a stop to their winless run this weekend when they travel to Birmingham.

Ipswich drew 0-0 with Bolton wanderers to extend their winless run to nine games, and the only team in the Championship without a win as their opponents for Saturday got a surprising victory over top of the league Leeds United.

Town will be without Jonathon Walters as earlier this week he was told he’d face up to six months out of action with a partial rupture to his Achilles. The Republic of Ireland striker returned to Ipswich after eight years this summer on loan from Premier League side Burnley.

Without Walters, Ipswich will be in search of a player, or players, who can raise the morale and spirit of the squad, and that could mean first team call ups for U23 players Ben Folami and Andre Dozzell. Folami scored twice this week in a 4-1 win against Coventry City to remain top of the Professional Developmental League Two South division.

The Tractor Boys are still in the relegation zone and Paul Hurst is beginning to feel the pressure from the fans, which could mean a drastic change to the team for Saturday.
